Maternity fashion: winter is coming.

The nerd in me had to make the Game of Thrones reference in the title for this blog post.

The autumn winter clothes are arriving in shops now and i must say I nearly wish I were pregnant again the selection is amazing! So here are a few of my favorite online winter  buys!
Jumper dresses are great for autumn-winter months. As the weather gets colder add 300 denier tights from asos for €10.37 (above) to keep cosey. This gorgeous jumper dress from asos is €46.67 (left) and is also great paired with boots.
Pair a jumper and skinny jeans for a comfortable casual outfit. I love these jeans (above) and jumper (left)  both €37.33 each from asos.

This large coat is great for those colder winter days, with plenty of room for your growing bump. Just €53.32 from New Look is a steal for a great coat. My Maternity coat was New Look they are a great fit and very comfortable.

These bombers are definitely on trend and I love the floral print on this one. Just €37.33 from Bluebell Maternity.

So wrap up this winter and keep your bump cosey with these fab finds! xxxx

Maternity fashion: holidays

Sorry for the lack of maternity fashion last week I was away on a little holiday with the boys. In good news it's given me the inspiration for this week's fashion blog!! How to dress on holidays!! Whether it's a stay-cation or a trip abroad here are my favorite pieces from my favorite maternity shops!!
I love this dress for just €25.35 from asos.ie. It's perfect for dinner by the beach or a boat trip (if your stomach can take it). It's very wearable at home or abroad.

This is a fab kaftan from asos.ie for €39.44. Gorgeous on the beach over your swimwear or for stopping into a cafe for lunch and doing a little shopping. The snakeskin pattern is very on trend and the colour is subtle. I love the little sleeves if your like me and hate your bingo wings!
These over the bump shorts are a great length if your conscious of your thighs. They are stretchy and comfortable. Put with a tee and converse or blouse and sandles to go from casual to dressy. For just €14.99 from New Look maternity.
This swimsuit from mothercare is the nicest one I could find online. Asos and New Look have loads to choose from but I love this one it's cute and I love the mismatch top and bottom colours. It costs €32.99
Espadrilles are very popular at the moment and I love this pair from asos.ie for €28.15. They are light comfortable and very summery.
Flip flops are great for swollen feet and in the hot weather I'd say most pregnant women are suffering with at least some swelling! Penny's/primark sell great cheap Flip flops, you could have a pair in every colour! Or if you want to splash the cash  these cute Ted Baker ones from asos.ie for €54.93 are so dainty and sweet.

So enjoy the summer pregnant ladies I hope the heats not to much for you x

Maternity fashion: The Wedding

When I was 8 months pregnant we went to a friends wedding. I hated the idea of being a big fat pregnant woman surrounded by beautiful wedding guests all glammed up. I was very unsure about where to get a dress I didn't want to waste a lot of money for somthing I would wear once. I was also worried about getting somthing and then growing so large it wouldn't fit by the wedding. I searched online and found a beautiful dress on asos. I was a bit nervous buying somthing before trying it on. It was on sale for €20 down from €65. I was delighted with it when it arrived. The dress was stretchy and comfortable with lots of room to grow. I felt beautiful in my dress and I was comfortable which is so important when your so heavily pregnant. As I was naturally uncomfortable all the time.
These are a few of my favorite dresses around at the moment for if your going to a wedding, if your a bridesmaid and even if you yourself are a pregnant bride to be.

This gorgeous dress is from asos and it costs just €35.21 which is a bargain for an occasion dress. I love the sleeve detail. This dress would be great for someone who hates showing there arms off which was a big thing for me during my pregnancy.
I just love this dress from asos the print and colours are beautiful and I love the little ruffle down the front. It's €67.60 so a bit pricier but if you have the money it's a beautiful dress.

Here is a bargain dress for a pregnant bridesmaid. It's €59.15 from asos it's a lovely long length and very floaty and comfortable for a long day of serving your brides every whim.

Tiffanyrose.com sells some beautiful affordable maternity wedding dresses. This is my favorite its elegant and comfortable and costs only €255.

So dont fret if you have a wedding coming up as there is plenty of choice out there!! You and your bump will look beautiful!!!!

Maternity fashion: Date night

We tried to get as many dates in as possible when I was pregnant as we knew once baby came our chances to get out would be less and less. Even if we were just going to the movies I still like to look my best and put some effort in.

Normally I never wear tight dresses as I hate showing my belly but I loved showing off my growing bump when I was pregnant! I love this dress from New look for just €29.99 dress it up with wedges or down with converse.

This top is comfy and very stylish. Great with your skinny jeans and a pair of converse or ankle boots! It's from New Look and it costs €19.99

This dress from New Look is a steal at just €18.99. It's perfect for date night and transitions from pregnancy to nursing as the wrap over makes easy access for feeding.

This blouse from asos is adorable. I love the floral print worn with a pair of cropped jeans and pumps. It's €50.70 so it's a bit pricer than the other pieces but being a blouse you will be able to wear it when nursing so you will get alot of wear out of it.

So now you know what to wear it's time to decide where to go on your date!! It doesn't matter where you go really just enjoy the quality time with your partner!

Maternity Fashion: Basics

Maternity fashion has improved so much over the years! When I first got pregnant at 20 there where no clothes out there for a young post 'emo kid' mammy to be. It was all floaty, floral printed and awful. I managed to find one pair of maternity jeans and a pair of leggins and I paired them with my boyfriends t shirts and hoodies and that was about it. This time around tho my maternity wardrobe was bursting. There are so many options out there for moms to be. From the third month of my pregnancy I was loving my maternity wardrobe. It was the first time in my life I was confident to wear form fitting clothes and not feel conscious of my tummy area because for once it was ment to be sticking out!

You may think you will only be wearing your maternity clothes for about 5 months of your pregnancy but I got my first pair of maternity jeans at 12 weeks and 8 weeks post partum I'm still wearing them! So you will need a good sized maternity wardrobe to keep you going all that time.

I found the best shops to buy from were New Look, Asos and H&M. They all have very good quality clothing that wont break the bank. Here are a few of my favorite basics. Items you will need for everyday wear.

Jeans are a basic for everyone. Dress it up with a floaty shirt or dress it down with a vest, they are something you can wear everyday. I prefer the over the bump pants but then I was always a fan of high waisted jeans.
I got these skinny jeans from New Look in black and grey they are super stretchy and comfortable. And they are only €22.99

I know people who have lived in there leggings throughout there entire pregnancy and its no surprise. They are so comfy and stretch with you as you grow. I loved these leggings from H&M for just €9.99.

Vest tops are a must especially if you plan to breast feed. I live in these nursing vests from H&M and come in a pack of 2 for just €19.99.

These maternity crew neck t-shirts are a maternity wardrobe staple. Wear with joggers for just lounging around or pair with your jeans, a blazer and a statement necklace when meeting friends for coffee (decaffeinated of course). This 2 pack is just €19.72 from asos.com.
